Congo Peace Academy: Cultivating Peace, Leadership, and Unity in Eastern Congo

On the tranquil shores of Idjwi Island and amidst the challenges of Goma, the Congo Peace Academy (CPA) has been steadfast in its mission to transform lives through peacebuilding and leadership education. Since our inception in 2018, with support from the Davis Projects for Peace through the University of Rochester, CPA has dedicated itself to empowering youth, fostering social cohesion, and championing gender equality.

What makes CPA extraordinary is its commitment to a deeply inclusive, community-based approach to peacebuilding. By rooting our programs in the historical and cultural context of Congolese society, we tackle the root causes of ethnic and familial violence. From schools to communities, we focus on preventing conflicts and nurturing an environment where peace can thrive.

Our initiatives are more than just programs; they are lifelines for hope and resilience. CPA's work is a testament to the power of collaboration, inclusivity, and local engagement in addressing some of the most pressing challenges in eastern Congo.

Through tailored workshops, dialogue forums, and skill-building opportunities, we empower young leaders to become agents of positive change. These individuals are not only reducing tensions but also fostering a generation committed to justice, equality, and unity.

As we look to the future, CPA continues to be a symbol of what is possible when communities come together with a shared vision for peace. Join us on this transformative journey and become part of the movement to create a peaceful and prosperous DR Congo.
